Meet the MNC Managers
Dawn, our Chichester Area Manager, is an experienced entertainer and has spent eight years developing her various stage personas, from rock to retro. In 2011 following her winning the prestigious title of Best Dressed at Goodwood Revival, an invitation to show off her outfit at a local nursing home gave her the idea and encouragement to put together a retro repertoire and launch her new act Dawn’s Vintage Do.
Having been obsessed with all things vintage (mainly 50’s and 60’s) for most of her life and with friends and family frequently telling her ‘you were born in the wrong era!’, this was the perfect opportunity for her to work with a nostalgic musical genre and allow her to showcase her extensive collection of vintage outfits.
Together with Dawn’s infectious enthusiasm and stage presence, the whole package includes audience participation as well as some good old skirt swinging tunes to boot! As an extension to her entertainment package, Dawn is now a qualified Burlesque instructor and uses this to teach women self confidence and how to have feminine fun with fire in their eyes.
Dawn also writes a weekly ‘Woman in Business’ column and in April 2013 Dawn won the Observer & Gazette ‘Business Personality of the Year’ award at a glittering ceremony, on account of her work with Mumpreneurs and as a vintage entertainer.
Emma is the Emsworth and Havant manager. She has been a member since 2012 and jumped at the chance to join the team when the mangers role became vacant. She runs a number of businesses, as she does not believe in putting all your eggs in one basket and is happiest stepping out her comfort zone embarking on new challenges. She set up Live Well Coaching in 2008 and since then has been helping others make positive changes to their life, business and health with a totally holistic approach. Her health and wellbeing coaching can be combined with Herbalife Nutrition which helps her clients not only improve their health but look and feel fantastic. She also runs a successful property portfolio including a 4 star holiday cottage in Westbourne near Emsworth. Prior to being self-employed she was a sales manager, coach & mentor for a large blue chip pharmaceutical company.
Her passions are health and wellbeing, helping others and her local community. She enjoys keeping fit in the great outdoors; cycling, running with her dogs and spending as much time as possible in and around Chichester harbour either on the beaches, in a boat or her kayak (quality ‘me time’). She is mum to her son Sam and wife to Charles and enjoys a busy family and social life striking the balance between work and play.
Heather is our Brighton Manager. Having been an MNC member for over a year, she loved our supportive and friendly way of networking where new entrepreneurs would feel at ease and established business owners could grow and develop together. She loves to see others achieve and is happy to help them avoid some of the pitfalls that she herself has encountered through her 15 years in business.
Her primary business is Robins Nursery School, a well-established nursery on the Hove-Brighton border. Here she provides a highly-regarded service to local mums who are looking to build confident, resilient children who are eager to learn and celebratory of our differences. She also owns a payroll bureau, sells Aloe Vera based products and is qualified to share mindfulness and stress management techniques.
She feels that as a single Mum with 2 teenagers, she is well-placed to understand the challenges faced by many MNC members who also juggle family and work commitments. With the right support from like-minded people in an energetic and vibrant group, it is possible to build a successful business whilst enjoying a fulfilling personal life.
Liz is our Enfield Town Manager. She is a life coach for teenagers/young adults and a workshop facilitator working with organisations who work with parents or young people. Liz has also worked in secondary schools as a mentor and coach working with those who are angry, unfocussed, easily influenced or needing to plan for their future career.
Liz loves living in North London with her partner Richard and daughter Eve. Liz is originally from Dorset and has been in London since her 20’s working in advertising and design until she realised that she was in the wrong profession and retrained as a life coach specialising in young people in 2002.
Her daughter Eve has accompanied Liz over the last 3 years and has literally grown up with Mumpreneurs Networking Club. Liz at one point earnt the honour of the “most travelled MNC member” by attending the three London groups regularly and visiting Portsmouth, Brighton and Horsham too. She has enjoyed (most of the time) bringing Eve to the meetings, and if it hasn’t gone to plan, it’s not a judgmental meeting to say “I think I am going to take her home”……
Liz is well connected in North London having been networking since she started her coaching business. Liz is passionate about supporting parents who are in business and that is the main reason for setting up her own MNC in Enfield. When not working you can find Liz roller-skating round local parks whilst Eve scooters or at a child friendly rave in fancy dress (with funky green ear defenders for Eve) or pottering around in her garden.
Lesley is our Hove Manager, she is a solution focused therapist with a background in nursing, social work and medical sales.
A keen supporter and member of MNC she became manager of the Hove group in April 2016. Her aim is to ensure that members benefit both professionally and personally from the group.
Lesley lives in mid Sussex with her twin teenage daughters and various 4 legged friends.
Marian is our Fareham manager and brand new to MNC. Having attended the Emsworth branch in the spring, she was inspired by the camaraderie but unable to attend further due to work commitments.
She is new to the area, having relocated from West London in February 2016, so is keen to make new connections and is looking forward to becoming involved in the community. She lives in Widley with her partner Lee and cat Esme. She is a devoted mum to three children in their twenties, Natalie, Chloe and Rory.
Marian is a qualified reflexologist specialising in babies, pregnancy and women’s health problems and offers a mobile service within a 20 mile radius, also currently working out of a salon in Wickham. In addition to reflexology she also offers Hopi ear candling and Natural face lift massage. Marian is also building and looking to expand her MLM business with “Neal’s Yard Remedies Organic” and strives to educate people about natural organic alternatives.
Her passions are her family and dancing and Saturday night is her ‘me time’ watching Strictly. She also enjoys gardening, reading about natural health and eating.
In the past she has been a secretary to a PTA, served 10 years as a treasurer to a scout group, ran the mess tent at family camp for 40 plus people, helped run a mum and toddler group and more recently, been a “Taxi dancer” at Ceroc where she welcomed and helped new dancers practice their steps and overcome their nerves. Marian says “I am so excited about this new chapter of my life and cannot wait to welcome you to our amazing new venue”.
Jess is the manager of the Shoreham branch. She has been a Health Kinesiology practitioner for 12 years and works from the beautiful Tree of Life clinic in Hove.
Previously she enjoyed a career in legal advice working in a housing charity for over 10 years. Now, having three young children Jess fully appreciates the flexibility of being self employed whilst being able to work one to one with people of all ages, using Kinesiology to improve their health and wellbeing. Combining techniques from traditional Chinese medicine and the modern world each session is unique, and gentle muscle testing allows direct communication with the body and mind.
Jess feels truly blessed doing this alongside her world outside work – with the joys, craziness and noise her three children bring each day. Having gained so much in her time as a MNC member Jess is fully embracing the role of Shoreham Manager, bringing people together to support and learn from each other, forming exciting business collaborations, as well as true friendships and enjoying the buzz and energy of the monthly meetings.
Suzie is our Lewes Manager. Much of Suzie’s working life has been in recruitment. She started her career working for Government Job Agencies, before moving to the private sector. Here she worked her way up to Manager for a large Regional Recruitment company working in various locations across the South East. Suzie for the last 10 years of her career was a Regional Manager for this company responsible for 9 Recruitment offices across South East England, with some 25 members of staff reporting directly to her. In this role she leant how small and medium sized companies run from a business end and what is required for companies to succeed from a management view point.
Some 10 years ago Suzie met her husband Justin and soon after, moved from Surrey to Lewes where she now lives. Quickly following this move came the birth of her twins Justie and Darcey who are now 9 years old.
With these changes in Suzie’s life she gave up her career in recruitment to concentrate of the twins. Some 4 years ago looking for a way back into the job market, yet maintaining a balanced home life, Suzie was introduced to Utility Warehouse which not only offered the challenge she looked for but also provided the flexible working hours to fit a happy home life. Suzie continues to develop a successful business with Utility Warehouse, helping many people make more personal, better and more affordable long term decisions on home utilities.
Suzie said… “What I liked most about recruitment was the high level of people content, networking and communication skills which were required to be successful. Understanding people’s needs and matching these to life opportunities motivated and still motivates me today. This is why I wanted to take on and develop the Lewes Branch of Mumprenuers. To share my life experiences and learn from others theirs. After attending and looking at a number of other networking groups I found Mumprenuers the most friendly, helpful, supportive and idea provoking.”
Jenni is our Horsham Manager. Being part of Mumpreneurs has seen Jenni’s business flourish and has increased her confidence, given her a complete makeover, and has changed her whole outlook on life. The positivity, encouragement and enthusiasm she feels in the room at each meeting is incredible. So after being a member for well over a year, and the Horsham Manager’s role was offered to her, she simply couldn’t refuse.
Jenni is a Mum of 7 year old Alfie and she loves the flexibility of being self employed. She is an independent distributor for Utility Warehouse and has recently been promoted to Team Leader.
Jenni has had the honour to help a few disabled and vulnerable people recently who were being charged far too much by the big boys. She sat down with them and explained how Utility Warehouse can lower their bills, give them exactly what they need to make a difference to their lives with great understanding and support. The relief on their faces was priceless.
After obtaining a Maths Degree, Jenni’s first career was in the Actuarial and Pensions Software Industry which proved extremely successful and she was made a Director of the Company at age 34. Jenni had always followed the traditional career path of school, sixth form, university, career and had reached her goals at an early age. At this point Jenni realised that she wanted something more from life and spent the next 18 months living in Gran Canaria, reliving her youth, and working as a waitress. On returning to England Jenni was determined to follow a career that was more service orientated and has not been back into an office since.
Mumpreneurs allows Jenni to put her organisational and managerial skills to great use, helping others to promote their businesses, and at the same time increasing the profile of her own.

Catherine is the manager for Petersfield. She works as a wellbeing facilitator, coach and craniosacral therapist with individuals and groups.
Networking has always been part of Catherine’s marketing mix for promoting her business and she has experienced many different approaches across the years. The Mumpreneurs Networking Club is a format that she has found to work best and she was delighted when the chance to manage her local MNC group arose having been a member for a year.
She specialises in working with individuals with stress, anxiety and pain on a one to one basis using a form of body work known as Craniosacral Therapy (relaxation for the mind, body and spirit) to feel more at ease and freer from the effects of anxiety and pain.
Catherine launched The Memory Club in Petersfield in January 2018 which is for adults (at the moment) who want to improve their memory for everyday life such as remembering names of people and where keys/phones are.
When she’s not working Catherine can be found having mini adventures with her herd of four unridden horses, walking her dog Martha or curled up with a book and is currently trying to master the art of crochet. She is also mum to three teens and wife to Peter.
Julia is our Bognor Manager. She joined MNC in October 2017, having recently moved to the south coast from Surrey.
Julia was keen to meet new people in the area and develop her business further; joining MNC was a way to engage with local businesses and like-minded people. Her company, JBS Print & Design, was established in 2000 and 99% of her work is through referrals – networking is one of the best platforms to create relationships where a business can be recommended. Her business focus is on small and start-up businesses offering a one-stop shop for branding, logos, print and websites. Her experience in helping small businesses is a testament in itself.
As an MNC Manager Julia is eager to grow the group so that all the members benefit from meeting other local businesses, that, in turn, can grow and nurture each others’ businesses. She remembers her first ever networking meeting, many years ago and, therefore, knows how daunting it can feel stepping into a room full of people you don’t know. Consequently, her philosophy is making sure that there is always a warm welcome to members and new visitors alike.
Previous to starting JBS, Julia worked in schools, as an AV Technician (for 9 years) and then moved over to working in commercial businesses, mainly in the medical publishing and marketing fields (for over 10 years). With 2 children working full time and paying for a child-minder did not make financial sense, hence JBS was started. It can be said that she understands the need to balance work and have a life outside of work. “It’s something that has to be worked at and embraced.”
Interests outside of work include food (cooking and eating – you can tell!), walking and reading.
Deborah is our new Portsmouth manager. Having been a member for over a year, attending the Emsworth meetings, discussions with Marian our Fareham manager, led Deborah to decide to take on the role when the Portsmouth position became available.
Deborah owns her business Bramble Crafts, where she sells mostly sells digital software and patterns to other crafters. When she isn’t doing this, she can be found learning new crafting skills, such as dressmaking and patchwork, or her first crafting love of crochet.
As a strong believer in networking, Deborah recognised early on the importance of networking to raise people’s awareness of her business, and loves to meet new people, a create new friendships and business relationships.
As a busy Mum of six children, running a successful business where flexibility is a necessity, is key.
When Deborah isn’t working, she can be found out walking with her partner and their children, decorating, or curled up under a blanket with her crochet.
Pollie is our Eastbourne Manager. Originally from Birmingham, where she ran a storytelling workshop and was learning counselling skills and British sign language. She has had a varied work background in office and retail, including managing a betting shop, and 12 years working in customer services for a well-known bank, before moving to Seaford in September in 2008.
In December 2008 she had her first child Amy and took redundancy from her bank job. She then started looking at finding her place in the South East. Due to long term health issues It was difficult to get the right job, so when her son Jacob was born in 2013 she became a volunteer for the children’s centre she attended where she decided on a change of career. Whilst looking at her options she came across Partylite selling fabulous home fragrance and accessories, she worked the business as a hobby for a while whilst working as a youth support worker, she then saw the potential in partylite and the opportunity she could offer others so when her son started school in September 2017 she started to work harder and to join networking groups which is how she found Mumpreneurs.
Pollie still works as a youth support worker and is a parent rep for East Sussex parent and carer’s council, a role she took on after receiving her daughter’s autism diagnoses. Pollie is passionate about helping people achieve their potential and to grow themselves and their businesses, she has embraced her role as Eastbourne manager with great enthusiasm.
